By Athina Tagidou

The Greek Orthodox Community of Prophet Elias
celebrated its 30th Pearl Anniversary at their annual fall
dance on Saturday, November 18th at the Mississauga
Grand Banquet Centre in Mississauga. A sold-out event
filled with community members and guests celebrated a
memorable evening. With the highlight of the evening
being the performances by the community’s dance
groups, children from junior to senior groups entertained
the enthusiastic parents and guests with traditional and
contemporary Greek dances and colourful folklore.
The evening’s MCs Spyridoula Agathos and Mary
Stergiadis also announced the special recognition award
to Mr. John Stratigeas , owner of the Mississauga Grand
Banquet Centre, for his more than 30 years of support
and dedication to the Greek Orthodox Community of
