Ορκίστηκε η ΜΡΡ Έφη Τριανταφυλλόπουλος


Την περασμένη Τρίτη, 10 Ιουλίου, στο επαρχιακό Κοινοβούλιο, η νεοεκλεγμένη σύμβουλος, Έφη Τριανταφυλλόπουλος, ορκίστηκε ως μέλος της 42ης επαρχιακής κυβέρνησης που συστάθηκε από τον πρωθυπουργό του Οντάριο, Dug Ford.
Η Ελληνίδα ομογενής μετά την ορκωμοσία της δήλωσε: «Σήμερα έλαβα τη μεγαλύτερη τιμή της ζωής μου, βρισκόμενη εδώ στο επαρχιακό Κοινοβούλιο του Οντάριο. Είμαι τόσο ευγνώμων στην Ελληνική οικογένεια μου, στους φίλους και τους συνεργάτες μου αλλά και την ευρύτερη κοινότητα, που με στήριξαν και με τίμησαν με τη ψήφο τους. Σας ευχαριστώ όλους για την εμπιστοσύνη σας.»

«Effie brings a wealth of experience and accomplishments in government and public policy, the private sector and not-for-profit sector to her candidacy for Member of Provincial Parliament in the riding of Oakville North-Burlington.
Advocate for Jobs and Growth – Effie has worked directly with Canadian businesses to create jobs. As past Director for the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Canada’s largest trade and industry association, Effie advocated for a more open and competitive business environment. Currently a lawyer in the GTA, she specializes in corporate, international trade and immigration law.
Effie has advocated for a strong Canadian economy while serving as director for the Canada – U.S. Business Association, Ontario Exports Inc., Forum for International Training, and the Empire Club of Canada.
Business and Government Leader – Effie worked as a senior advisor in three key federal government departments focused on economic growth and trade.
As Chief of Staff to Ministers at the Departments of Industry, Treasury Board, and External Affairs and International Trade she was involved with the implementation of the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement.
Her experience in international trade led to her role as Deputy Director for the Summits Management Office of Foreign Affairs and International Trade during the 2010 G20 Summit in Canada.
Serving Communities – Effie is committed to improving the health and education of children. As past Chief Executive Officer and Director of Save the Children Canada, Effie worked to improve the rights of children in Canada and around the world. She is committed to public service and volunteerism having been active in the community and national voluntary organizations for more than 25 years.
Her most notable involvement includes the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid Committee, National Arts Centre, Hellenic Heritage Foundation, Accessible Media Inc. and the International Women’s Forum.
Effie holds a Bachelor of Law and a Master of Laws in International Trade and Competition Law. Effie has completed the Schulich Executive Program.»
