On this evening volunteers from the variety of programs and events happening at the Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church and Mississauga's Greek Community were invited to gather for an appreciation dinner hosted by the Prophet Elias Church Community Council.
The Prophet Elias church community offers a variety of programs in Mississauga to best serve its members and to all parishioners . These programs include the Ladies of the Philoptochos, the very successful Sunday school program, Youth Group, Mississauga Hellenic Academy Greek school program, Nea Genea dance program, Seniors Group and the H.O.P.E. outreach program. In addition, the community organizes annual events which include Bouzouki nights, Host of Greece pavilion at Mississauga's award winning 'Carassauga Festival of Cultures', the Prophet Elias Panygiri, Golf tournament and Fall Dance.
In addition, throughout the year the church offers luncheons as well as bake sales, Opacize and other cultural gatherings promoting Hellenism and Greek pride. All volunteers and council members who attended enjoyed a relaxing and enjoyable evening with a large selection of a hot buffet dinner along with entertaining Greek music which was enjoyed and appreciated by all. It is the continued dedication and passion for our Greek heritage and Greek community which the volunteers of the Prophet Elias church community in Mississauga exemplify year after year in making this community a vibrant and great place to be for everyone.
