Friends and members of the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC) celebrates a remarkable milestone in the life of one of its esteemed members, Neel Nanda, who turned 50 this week. Serving as the Secretary of the NEPMCC, Nanda has played a pivotal role in advocating for ethnic media and fostering inclusive dialogue across Canada's multicultural communities.
Since joining the NEPMCC in 2000, he has exemplified leadership and commitment to the values of diversity and representation. His tenure as Secretary of the Committee has been marked by initiatives to amplify the voices of ethnic media outlets, strengthen partnerships, and ensure equitable access to press freedoms. His dedication has been instrumental in advancing the council’s mission to support and empower community-focused journalism.
Born on December 25, 1974, Nanda’s journey reflects his unwavering dedication to promoting diversity in Canadian media. Colleagues describe him as a visionary with an innate ability to connect with people and a passion for storytelling that transcends boundaries. His contributions to the NEPMCC have left an indelible mark, inspiring future generations of journalists and media professionals.
