As part of its commitment to support communities, the Government of Ontario, in partnership with the Federal Government, is investing a total of $239,497.00 in the Pan Macedonian Federation of Canada building. The province is providing $108,856 and $130,641 in funding from the federal government. This funding includes the installation of an elevator to provide access from the main floor to the second floor, as well as renovating washrooms to improve accessibility. The project will result in creating better accessibility for seniors and people with disabilities, allowing them to participate in programming provided by the center. This major announcement is great news to the Pan Macedonian Centre and the Greek community, which MPP Babikian supported and advocated wholeheartedly. The hard work and persistence of the community paid off and the long-awaited project is on its way to be a reality. “I am proud of my humble contribution to see this major funding announcement. It is well-deserved and about time. I have been to the Pan Macedonian Centre on numerous occasions. Yesterday, it was my great pleasure to attend the community’s official announcement and celebrate this major milestone. This funding will help the community to better serve seniors and it will help them to continue to deliver vital services. I always have and always will be there to support the Pan Macedonian center and community,” said Aris Babikian, MPP for Scarborough-Agincourt. MPP Babikian commends the work of the center and their vigor in serving the Greek community and the community at large.
